Infrastructure Rail Surcharge (IRS) as from March 1st 2024
We would like to inform you about further developments concerning costs in respect to the policy of the German Federal Government (GFG) regarding the track access fees for rail freight transport, the so-called “Trafög” - Trassenpreisförderung Schienengüterverkehr.
Unfortunately, GFG decided to significantly reduce the funds for financing railway routes, whereby the financial support was already taken into account when calculating the 2024 prices. Therefore we are forced to introduce an Infrastructure Rail Surcharge (IRS) as from March 1st 2024 (date of loading) which counts for following routes from/to Rotterdam terminals;
| Rail service from/to Hutchison Ports Duisburg | €2 per TEU |
| Rail service from/to TriCon Nürnberg | €8 per TEU |
| Rail service from/to DUSS Regensburg | €8 per TEU |
| Rail service from/to DUSS München | €8 per TEU |
The above IRS surcharge is applicable to all import, export, continental and empty transports by rail from, to or through Germany.
