Hutchison Ports Duisburg connected with China via the Silk Road

With the arrival of these trains, Hutchison Ports Duisburg now also connects China and Western Europe with the fast route via land. The terminal is already optimally located for connecting the region with the rest of the world via the sealanes. The inland terminal serves as one of the extended gates within ECT’s European Gateway Services network. The inland terminal is connected daily by barge and by rail with the deep-sea terminals of ECT and other terminals in Rotterdam and Antwerp.

Nike visits Hutchison Ports Belgium

This week Hutchison Ports Belgium was honored with a visit from Nike. This terminal in the EGS network acts as an important link in Nike's logistics process.Last January was the biggest peak month ever for them and due to the service and good communication between both parties, this large volume was handled quickly.As a thank you for this, Nike brought a delicious cake.

EGS connects all deepsea terminals Maasvlakte Rotterdam with Nuremberg

The network of connections European Gateway Services offers between Bavaria in Germany and the port of Rotterdam is increasingly becoming more comprehensive. The Rotterdam - Nuremberg rail shuttle is now already calling at all the deepsea terminals at the Maasvlakte (1 and 2).

5000th Betuwe Express trip; 10 years of back and forth between Rotterdam and Duisburg by rail

At the end of 2019, the Betuwe Express of European Gateway Services (EGS) already marked its 10th year of reliably and quickly connecting the deepsea terminals at the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam with the inland terminal Hutchison Ports Duisburg in Germany. Across 5000 trips, more than 400,000 containers (TEU) have now been transported by train. Good for a reduction in CO2 of more than 37,500 tonnes compared to transport by road.

Extra markets for Rotterdam through the intermodal connections of EGS

This week in Nieuwsblad Transport's 'Brand Story' the story of EGS; Extra markets for Rotterdam through the intermodal connections of EGS. EGS has considerably expanded its network of intermodal transport in the Benelux, Germany and Austria in recent years. As a result, tens of thousands of containers are not only taken off the road every year and transported via inland shipping and rail. The port of Rotterdam can also tap into new markets.

Intercity Barge; more than 100.000 containers transported

Since last year is the Intercity Barge a proven success and shows that reliable barge services within the Port of Rotterdam area and the vicinity of the port can help to strengthen the supply chain.This barge service connects the terminals of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam at the Maasvlakte with the terminals and depots in the Waal-/Eemhaven area, Botlek area, Merwedehaven, Ridderkerk and Alblasserdam.

New railconnection with Munich

Together with partners, European Gateway Services (EGS), part of Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam, is launching a new rail connection between Rotterdam and Munich. The new rail service replaces the existing connection with Munich and strengthens the rail product between Munich and Rotterdam.

EGS transports intelligent 'container 42' to Munich

The intelligent 'container 42', that the Port of Rotterdam Authority will be shipping around the world in the coming two years, was loaded yesterday, Monday 27 May, on a European Gateway Services (EGS) train with destination Munich. The container arrived on Sunday by means of the Intercity Barge of EGS at the ECT Delta terminal and has since left for Munich via the rail terminal. EGS provides also the rail transportation to Munich.
